ITR-2 Form Filing - Income Tax Return
The ITR-2 Form for Income Tax Return is filed by Indian citizens who are living in India as well as the Non Residents of India (NRIs). ITR-2 Form can be filled by individuals who are not eligible to use ITR-1 form.
The ITR-2 Form can be filed by individuals and Hindu Undivided Families whose source of income is through Salary or Pension, more than one House Property, Capital Gains, foreign assets, business or profession as a partner (not proprietor).
Also, individuals who have their income from other sources, such as lottery, racehorses, legal gambling can file ITR-2 form with the Income Tax Department of India for their IT Return. Individuals with an income of more than Rs 50 lakh are also eligible to file ITR using ITR-2.
How to file Income Tax Return ITR-2 Form
- Digital signature certificate.
- Electronically submitting data in ITR-2 form using electronic verification code.
- Electronically filling data in ITR-2 form and then sending the ITR-2 form to the Income Tax Office by post.
If ITR-2 form is filed by Individuals following the third method, then the acknowledgement in ITR-V must be completed properly. Two hard copies of the completely filled ITR-V must be obtained by the assesseee; one copy duly signed by the assessee to be sent by post to Post Bag No. 1, Electronic City Office, Bengaluru–560100 (Karnataka) and the second copy can be kept by the assessee for record.
